Seriously. Once I vented my spleen, I started to feel a lot better. Okay, the tunnel is still long and dark, but at least I'm not walking through it with a heavy heart right now. Hey, we have to start somewhere, right? :)
Alright, let's see if I can actually organize my thoughts on here...
1. My son and I had agreed that we would study Ancient History more in depth, and so far it's working out great. On Tuesday, we will start with the chapter on the Babylonians, and he'll be starting "Gilgamesh" on Thursday. We'll be reading Oedipus when we study Ancient Greece.
2. I need to go over my Al-Andalus paper again, especially if it gets submitted for publication. I may need to flesh out the Andalusians' quality of life more, especially as it pertains to the arts. As far as quality of life is concerned, I had fleshed out the academic, literary, medical and agricultural advances that were made, but I might also need to expound more on the other aspects of life in Al-Andalus.
What I found interesting was that there are words in our language that have roots in Arabic, such as words that begin with Al-. Spanish also has an infusion of Arabic words, which makes sense since Al-Andalus was the Islamic name of Muslim Spain.
3. This web page is very interesting if you're teaching your students Social Studies or World History:

Edited because a physically/mentally/emotionally burnt-out Laura is...um...yeah. *insert crazy look here*
